Privacy Policy
This is a working draft. The Eclipse Initiative has corporate and securities attorney consults scheduled for Weeks 10–11 of Phase 1; this document should be reviewed and finalized before the signup form goes live.
The short version
We collect your email address when you sign up to follow the Initiative. We use it to send you updates about Eclipse — about once a month. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with anyone except the services that help us deliver email and host the site. You can unsubscribe at any time. We don't use cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics that follow you around the internet.
What we collect
1. Information you give us directly.
- Your email address, when you sign up at the bottom of the page to follow the Initiative.
- Anything you write to us at
[email protected]or[email protected], or in any other message you send us.
2. Information we collect automatically.
- Basic, anonymized site traffic data through Cloudflare Web Analytics — for example, which pages were visited, what country a visitor came from, and how long the page took to load. This data is collected without cookies, does not identify you personally, and is not used for advertising.
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other tracker that builds a profile of you across the web. We do not set advertising cookies. We do not share or sell your information to data brokers, advertisers, or anyone else for marketing purposes.
How we use your information
- Email updates. If you sign up, we use your address to send periodic updates about the Initiative — typically about once a month.
- Replies. If you write to
policy@,press@, or any other address we publish, we use your message and your reply address to respond. - Site operation and security. We use anonymized traffic data to keep the site fast, find broken pages, and detect abuse.
We do not use your information for any other purpose without telling you first.
Who has access to your information
- Michael Robinson, founder of The Eclipse Initiative, and any future team members he authorizes, can read your messages and the signup list.
- Service providers that operate the technology behind the site:
- Resend (Resend.com) — sends email on our behalf and stores the signup list. Resend is a US company.
- Cloudflare (Cloudflare.com) — hosts the website, serves the DNS, and forwards inbound email to the founder's personal inbox. Cloudflare is a US company.
- iCloud (Apple) — receives forwarded mail at the founder's personal address. Apple is a US company.
These providers operate under their own privacy terms; they may only use your data to provide services to us, not for their own marketing.
We do not share your information with anyone else, except where required by law (for example, in response to a valid subpoena).
How long we keep your information
- Signup list: kept while the Initiative is active. If you unsubscribe, we remove your email from the active list within seven days.
- Email correspondence: kept indefinitely for our records, unless you ask us to delete a specific message.
- Anonymized analytics: kept as long as Cloudflare retains it (typically a rolling 6 months); never linked to you personally.

- Show you what we have on you — email
[email protected]. - Correct anything that's wrong.
- Delete your information from our systems.
- Stop emailing you. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
